Engine 181, Chief 18, Chief 18A, and Ambulance 187 Run First Due House Fire
On September 5th, 2022 at approximately 7:00pm, calls started to come in to Public Safety Communications for a house on fire in the 4900 block of Willies Vision Dr in Bowie. Engine 181, Chief 18 and Chief 18A responded on the call. Chief 18 arrived to find a 2 story single family dwelling with fire showing from side Charlie and through the roof and established command. E181 arrived as first due engine, had their own hydrant out front and the crew ran a line inside to start knocking the fire in division one. After a report of a partial roof collapse on side Charlie, command sounded the evacuation tones and went to exterior operations to knock down the bulk of the fire. Once this was completed and it was deemed safe, crews went back in to finish mopping up. Crews operated for a few hours before the incident was scaled back. Ambulance 187 was specialed to the scene to assist with rehab after clearing a call which came in moments prior to the house fire. After operating for a couple of hours the crew from Truck 43 were transported to a local facility for check ups. We wish them a speedy recovery. No injuries to the homeowners were reported the fire is under investigation.
